Most of us hit plenty of duffs, slices and hooks; not all tracked shots should be considered when determining a Club Recommendation. Golfshot uses Smart Club Distances to sort through all of your previously tracked swings and only base your distance averages on shots that were hit well.
The Smart Club Distances setting has rules which affect the way that the automatic distance for each club is handled. Once 5 "On Target" tracked swings are saved for both the favorite driver and favorite approach club, the automatic distance with these values will kick in.
Only saved tracked shots which are "On Target" and are within certain distance boundaries will be used for the calculation of your automatic average distance for a club.
Smart Club Distances improve the Club Recommendation logic in Golfshot when determining which club you should use on your next shot.
This function will only adjust your Club Recommendation and does not affect your club statistics in the Statistics section of the app.
