Swing ID separates and analyzes key metrics, KPIs, of your swing to provide crucial insights into each component of your stroke.
For each category, Golfshot will display your specific result and target benchmark applied on an aggregated range of values. Your target benchmark can also be adjusted to your needs.
Tempo
Tempo is the sum of your Backswing Time and your Downswing Time and affects the speed at which you transfer weight and generate clubhead speed. This knowledge is useful in developing great swing habits. The Tempo stats screen will display both your Backswing Time and Downswing Time in seconds with the optimal target value on the graph.
Rhythm
The ratio of backswing duration to downswing duration creates the Rhythm statistic. Though the ideal rhythm for all players varies, lower handicap golfers often keep a ratio of 3:1. The ideal swing rhythm varies from player to player and is often influenced by factors such as body type, strength, and swing mechanics. The key is to find a rhythm that works well for you and that allows you to make consistent shots.
Hand Speed
This statistic measures the speed of the wrist at the point of impact. The higher hand speed can help increase power and distance but too high of speed can lead to loss of control and accuracy. Male Pros have a typical hand speed of 24-26 mph and for female Pros it's 18-20 mph. Most casual golfers don't approach those speeds, with an average hand speed for men at 16-17 mph, while for women is about 13- 14 mph.
Backswing Arc
The Backswing Arc is the angle of the arc the wrist takes from the start of take-away to the top of the backswing. This value represents the size of your swing, and highlights how far back your wrists open on your backswing relative to the starting position. Taking a longer backswing arc can generate more power and time for increased hand speed while also increasing difficulty of returning to your address position at impact.
Transition
Transition is the comparison of the backswing plane versus the Impact Plane near the point of transitioning to your downswing. Golfshot provides the degree with which your swing transition is steep or shallow and a target point to balance this angle. Understanding your transition tendencies can help you realize and fix problems with coming over or under the top on your swing. If your Impact plane is too steep, you should work on swallowing your Transition to create more of an In-to-Out swing path. If your impact plane is too shallow, steepening the transition will help.
Wrist Path
Wrist Path is the comparison of the backswing plane versus the downswing plane near the point of impact. An optimal wrist path allows you to make solid contact with the ball and reduces the risk of hitting shots off the toe or heel of the club. An imprecise wrist path can result in various swing issues, such as slicing or hooking the ball. Golfshot calculates a degree value of the wrist path Out-to-In or In-to-Out. Out-to-In swings can lead to a slice while In-to-Out swings usually result in a hook.

Wrist Rotation
Wrist Rotation is the rotation of the wrist from Address to Impact. Wrist rotation is important because the rotation closes the face in your downswing as you approach impact. This metric is helpful for realizing over/under rotation of the wrist at the point of impact.
Impact Plane
The angle of your wrist at impact in relation to the horizon. Impact plane can vary between different golfers, and there is no perfect impact plane, however, knowing your impact plane can help you achieve consistency in your swing.
Closure Rate
The maximum degrees per foot at which the face closes just prior to impact. A high rate of closure indicates that the club has more rotation immediately prior to impact, which can make it more challenging to hit the ball square. Lower rate of closure indicates that the club is rotating less prior to impact, which may make it easier to square the club at impact.
