Golfshot needs a strong GPS signal to your device in order to give you accurate location information on the course. Some of the factors that could affect the accuracy/strength of GPS include: Walls, tall buildings, large tree coverage or other obstructions blocking GPS signal. Crowded areas and poor network connection can also result in a weak GPS signal.
Golfshot utilizes the GPS signal provided by your device. Since some older devices might be running an older OS or run an OS thats released for newer models, that could also affect the device's GPS capabilities.
Try these GPS tips:
First try restarting your phone.
You may also want to check that your firmware is current as old firmware can result in poor GPS performance.
Finally, check that Golfshot has access to the GPS hardware in your phone by opening the settings on your Android device and checking all privacy and GPS settings location specific to your device.

I've had Golfshot for many years. Did something change this year? Once play starts, when I would get to my ball, the distance to the green would show up, along with an aerial type view. Now, this isn't happening. The option on the bottom of the screen for the current hole are Track, Preview and something else. It doesn't automatically give me yardages as I approach the green. Since it just automatically happened in the past, is something different now?
