Auto Putt Tracking (APT) is great, but no tracking system is perfect. If something looks off during your round, you have quick ways to correct it right from your Apple Watch.
1. Add A Missed Putt/Shot
If APT misses a short putt, tap-in, or an extra quick stroke, you can add it manually with the steps below:
On your Apple Watch:
- Select the Watch Menu (Bottom Right)
- Or long-press the Watch Face to bring up the Watch Menu
- Select “Add Missed Putt”
This lets you keep your hole score accurate in real time.
2. Fix A Misclassified Shot
If a shot was recorded as the wrong type—like a chip showing up as a putt, or a putt logged as something else—you can correct it with the steps below:
On your Apple Watch:
- Select the Watch Menu (Bottom Right)
- Or long-press the Watch Face to bring up the Watch Menu
- Select “Convert Shot Type”
You can also adjust details like club or lie directly on the Auto Shot Tracking screen with the steps below:
On your Apple Watch:
- Swipe right to view the Auto Shot Tracking screen
- Tap Club or Lie Type
- Turn the Digital Crown to select the correct option
3. Delete A Stray Detection
If APT records a swing or putt that didn’t actually happen (for example, setting your bag down or a practice motion), you can remove it.
On your Apple Watch:
- Select the Watch Menu (Bottom Right)
- Or long-press the Watch Face to bring up the Watch Menu
- Select Delete Shot to clear the entry
Pro Tip: Fix It Now vs After The Round?
Make quick fixes on the Watch when they affect your current hole score—this ensures your score stays accurate as you play.
For more detailed edits (like refining lies or reviewing multiple adjustments), it’s often easier to wait for the post-round editor on your phone, where you have a larger view and more control.
