The Average to Par offered in Golfshot is equivalent to a score that would be calculated by the USGA®, RCGA®, EGA®, CONGU® or USGA (Australia) and the World Handicap System. The Average to Par score is calculated using a similar formula that the the associations above use, but the score offered in Golfshot is not an “OFFICIAL” Handicap Index®, meaning that it cannot be used to enter a sanctioned tournament, but the index itself is the same. Handicap Index® is a licensed term used by the USGA® and can be chose if you link or purchase a GHIN® through Golfshot.
Golfshot has a calculated handicap that automatically adjusts after five 18 hole rounds are saved. Go into Settings > Account > Handicap/Average to Par > turn Auto Handicap to ON. Turn this feature off if you wish to manually update your handicap. Turn Calculate Net Score to ON in the round set up screen to have your automated handicap figured into your score. Golfshot also supports official Handicap Index® scoring, tracking and posting through GHIN®.
