How is Auto Strokes Gained Calculated?

Golfshot utilizes the GPS locations of your tracked shots, the distance of your putts and average Pro golfer data to create a fully personalized Strokes Gained analysis for your game.

Your tracked shots connect with the average number of tracked shots it takes a Pro to finish out the hole from those exact positions. The beginning location and the ending location for each tracked shot is correlated with aggregate data.

Each shot is grouped into a category: off the tee, approach, short game and putts. All tracked shots from a category for a round are averaged and shown in the Strokes Gained section of your Statistics.
