Shots taken outside of the green surface with a Putter are often called Texas Wedge shots. These shots made with your Putter but not on the green surface will not count towards your Putt score or Putt distances.
You can use the digital crown to adjust the club to Putter around the green for Texas Wedge shots with Auto Putt Tracking.
In summary, putter shots not taken on the actual green surface will:
- Not contribute towards your putt total
- Not contribute towards putt distances
These shots are displayed on the Shot Editor view in your round. Go to Rounds > select your Round > Tracked Shots.
The texas wedge shot below is shown as P 20. A putter was used just off the green surface, so the club displayed is P and the distance of the chip or texas wedge shot was 20. This shot is not counted on the score screen as a putt.
The app will only allow a Putt to be tracked if Auto Putt Tracking is turned on in your settings. Go to Settings > Apple Watch > Auto Putt Tracking > Toggle on.
